Nijhof-Wassink
Every day, 800 trucks from the transport companies Nijhof-Wassink and Wemmers, both part of the Nijhof-Wassink Group, travel across Europe. Every minute, more than 1,800 colleagues rely on systems that simply work. There is no margin for downtime. IT must keep moving.
For that reason, the entire IT infrastructure runs in Previder’s twin datacenters, secure, scalable and continuously available. Thirty locations are connected through one integrated setup, with system management, cloud and connectivity aligned end to end. And now the next step: moving away from Citrix towards the modern workplace. Less dependency, more control. Because when the IT foundation is solid, you can go anywhere.
Nijhof-Wassink Group
Nijhof-Wassink Group operates in seven countries with more than 30 locations. In addition to its two transport companies, the group also includes Nijwa, an authorised Volvo and Renault Trucks dealer. Nijwa operates 15 locations in the Netherlands and Poland.
From the headquarters in Rijssen, the entire IT organisation is managed for approximately 750 employees who rely heavily on digital systems every day. The reliability of this IT environment is critical, whether it concerns route planning for 800 trucks or the delivery of parts from an automated warehouse. That is why Nijhof-Wassink Group has relied on Previder for more than 15 years.
The strength of a long-term partnership
What started as a collaboration with a down-to-earth IT partner from Twente has grown into a professional partnership in which both organisations have evolved together.
“When we first started working together, we were both much smaller,” says Mark Burgman, Business Improvement Manager at Nijhof-Wassink Group. “What really appealed to us back then was the Twente mentality. Previder also originated as a family business, and you can feel that in the culture. It aligns very well with how we operate as a company, which we value greatly.
On the one hand, we look for professionalism. That is why we are pleased that Previder has grown, with more expertise and more specialists in the same field. On the other hand, they remain accessible and pragmatic, with that same down-to-earth approach. Short lines, practical, yet professional.”
That connection has never disappeared. Today, Previder delivers the complete infrastructure foundation for Nijhof-Wassink Group, ranging from IaaS solutions and connectivity to specialised network management and support in the transition towards a modern workplace.
Previder is truly an essential link in the continuity of our services and, ultimately, in the service we provide to our customers. As such, Previder is of critical importance to us.
Availability, scalability and security as core requirements
System availability is literally critical to business operations.
“In our daily operations, the availability of our IT is absolutely essential. We often say that we could manage for about four hours without systems, but beyond that it becomes critical,” Mark explains. “This is especially true for our transport companies, where many customers align their production planning with our logistics schedules. Downtime is simply not an option.”
Scalability is another key factor. Nijhof-Wassink Group has grown rapidly in recent years, with transport activities even doubling within three years.
“We still have healthy growth ambitions,” says Burgman. “For that, it is crucial that our IT environment can scale easily, without requiring major investments each time. Previder’s pay-as-you-go model fits that need perfectly.”
That is why the entire server environment of Nijhof-Wassink Group runs in Previder’s datacenters.
“Our full server environment is hosted in Previder’s datacenters in Hengelo. We have more than 30 locations across Europe, all connected to these datacenters. Two datacenters, physical security, access is strictly controlled. They also comply with standards such as ISO 27001. For us, it is extremely important to know that security is a daily priority and structurally embedded.”
Expertise you cannot build in-house
Nijhof-Wassink Group has its own IT organisation, but deliberately relies on Previder for specialised expertise.
“We have an internal IT team, but we regularly need expert knowledge. Highly specialised expertise, and sometimes additional capacity when we run major projects. Every step we take in the development of our IT environment is done together with Previder. That is a crucial element of our partnership.
The added value lies in everything Previder delivers and in the level of service they provide. This allows us to safeguard system availability, enabling us to continue serving our customers without disruption. Previder is therefore an essential link in the continuity of our services, and ultimately in the service we provide to our customers. That makes them extremely important to us,” Mark concludes.
Erwin Neijmeijer, Account Manager at Previder, adds:
“Beyond our day-to-day focus on ensuring business continuity and optimising service delivery, we regularly engage with Nijhof-Wassink Group. The goal is to challenge and strengthen each other at every level, from strategic to operational. That is how we continuously improve the partnership. Our collaboration is built on trust, transparency, quality and continuous optimisation of services.”
